Description

The 1981 Los Angeles Dodgers was one of the most memorable teams of the 20th century. They were World Series Champions and the baseball world was crazed with “Fernandomania.” Rookie pitcher Fernando Valenzuela pitched a shutout on opening day and would go on to win the NL Rookie of the Year Award and the NL Cy Young Award. In his first eight starts, he went 8-0 with eight complete games, five shutouts, a 0.50 ERA and 0.83 WHIP. He remains the only rookie to ever win a Cy Young Award. In the Postseason, he went 3-1 with a 2.21 ERA in 40.2 innings pitched including a complete game victory in game 3 of the World Series.
To honor the 1981 Dodgers and Fernando Valenzuela’s record setting rookie season, we are proud to release this Dodgers 1981 World Series Champions Louisville Slugger Bat that will be personally signed by Fernando Valenzuela. The bat will come engraved with the 1981 World Series Logo, Dodgers logo, and their journey in the Postseason to becoming World Series Champions.
