Description
From 1901 to 1954 the American League A’s called Philadelphia home. Early on this was one of baseball’s dynasty’s – winning six pennants and three World Series titles before 1913. The team enjoyed another lengthy run of success from 1927 to 1933 winning another three pennants and two titles during that span as the legendary Connie Mack oversaw the team. In 1955 the team started play as the Kansas City A’s and that was the end of American League baseball in Philly. This Rawlings Philadelphia Athletics Big Stick carries the authenticated autographs of six stars who played for the A’s during the team’s stay in Philly. This bat is a true piece of baseball history. The signatures on this bat are those of Hall of Fame member George Kell, Forrest “Spoof” Jacobs, Joe Astroth, Eddie Joost, Bobby Shantz and Lou Brissie.
