Description

He is the only pitcher in Major League history to hurl back-to-back No Hitters.   On  June 11, 1938, Johnny VanderMeer pitched a No Hitter against the Boston Bees. Four days later he repeated the feat against the Brooklyn Dodgers, becoming the only man to ever throw two consecutive no hitters. After his double no-hit achievement, Reds management wanted VanderMeer to change his uniform number to “00,” but he declined. However, offered here is a professionally framed 11″ x 14″ photograph of VanderMeer in action signed by Johnny and inscribed with the date of each no hitter.  A Certificate of Authenticity from James Spence Authentication is included with this buy.
