This bat once belonged to the Giants’ Lowell Palmer – it was given to him by teammate Willie McCovey. Palmer, during the last week of the 1974 season, had players sign this piece of equipment and transformed it into a very unique piece of game memorabilia. This is a Willie McCovey model Louisville Slugger loaded with notable signatures from players on both teams. The list of signatures on this bat includes: McCovey, Dave Winfield, Randy Jones, Bobby Tolan, John McNamara – Mgr., Jim Davenport – coach,  Billy Posedel – coach, Whitey Wietelmann – coach,  Nate Colbert,  Fred Kendall, Chris Cannizzaro, Larry Hardy, Bill Grief, Lowell Palmer, Horace Clarke, Steve Arlin, Bill Laxton, Dave Tomlin, Cito Gaston, Bob Barton, Dave Roberts,Rich Morales, Glen Beckert, John Grubb, Jack Bloomfield, Dave Freisleben, Dave Hilton, Bill Laxton, Michael Johnson, Dan Spillner,Gene Locklear and Randy Elliot. The bat comes with a note from Palmer that reads, ” … bats were game bats from Don Money and McCovey.  Those years I played with both teams.  I took the bats around to each player and had them signed the last week of the season.”  Signed Lowell Palmer. “1974 Padres” is written on the bat handle, and it comes with both a Certificate of Authenticity from PSA/DNA and Full Letter of Authenticity for the signatures from James Spence Authentication..  The bat comes with a PSA cert and full JSA letter for the signatures.
